Veteran's Day

First off, I would like to thank all of those who have served our country. Thank you for all you do. This country is free and safe because of you and there is no other way to say it. You are the best Americans in this nation because you are willing to give your families, your jobs, your lives for us, for this country and many of us don't appreiciate it. I say to them that they are disgraces of Americans and don't belong here if they are not willing to accept all that you have given for this country. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you. Te Gratias Agimus.

Today is the 90th Anniversary of Armistice Day, the end of World War One and I just have to say this. The Paris Peace Conference and Paris Peace Treaty was the biggest mistake in world history. If the French and English didn't have their fingers already in the Turkish and such possessions, there would not be this mess in the Middle East. Honestly, there wouldn't be. And if the French were better fighters (in this case, they were okay) and less of a sore winner, Germany would not have resented it, there would be no Hitler and subsequently no E/W Germany and not a Cold War in the sense that we had it. Nuclear Power was only researched to Bomb Germany and us by them so we wouldn't have that. What I'm trying to say is that this was the War to End All Wars and yet they put their past ideals on how to end a war and it led to probably the deadliest century Man has ever seen.

We mourn this day for the Veterans whom have died and the fact that WWII, Korea, Vietnam, The Entire Middle East Crisis, and the African Crises would never have happened if The Paris Peace Treaty was done right and that did not include a League of Nations. Obviously, the United Nations is not the fine example of diplomacy Wilson had in mind.

Here is a prayer of all our Veterans and please pass it on to others:

God our Father, maker and lover of peace, to know you is to live, and to serve you is to reign.
All our faith is in your saving help; protect those who serve and seek to protect our country from violence and keep them safe from weapons of hate.
We also pray for those who have died in service in protecting our country and upholding our freedom.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son.

Ducem Novum Habemus

We have a new leader. It is not the one we wanted, but who had a first choice of our candidate? That is why we lost; most of us were voting against a socialist, not for a conservative. Our candidate was more moderate than he was conservative and now we have a real liberal next January.

We must ask ourselves: Who are we? What do we believe?
If you know what you believe, you are better off than most conservatives in our nation. I know what I believe, but I think it is harder than expected to pin down your exact beliefs. A lot of the time, a belief is relative, depending on a situation that the belief might be employed. if you can pin down your beliefs, please write a post about it. We all need to know what it is we believe so we can be ready in 2010 and for the magnum tempus: 2012.


I believe in Christianity; I am a devout Catholic. I believe in frugality and old-fashioned morals, like our grandparents or great-grandparents had. I am conservative to a fault particularly when it comes to foreign policy and domestic punishment. I say we should do a preemptive strike if a rogue nation has declared it wants to harm us. I believe in the death penalty and (I am my father's daughter on this one)believe it should be enacted right after sentencing since obviously the crime was heinous enough to recieve the death penalty. I believe in the nuclear family and if need be the grandparents living there to. Shuffleboard and such are the traditional grandparent activites. Basically, if was a Guilded Age practice in America (Victorian), I believe it.

Now what about your beliefs? I'd love to hear them.

Pray for America to survive

Today we are at the precipice. Depending on who becomes our president will determine our future. So I ask you to pray with me from Matthew 26: 38-39

Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."
Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

We need to keep watch over our country and pray that the Lord does take this cup from us else we prepare for exile in our own land. Please pray this be so that the Lord shall decide but perhaps he will decide in our favor. Pray as hard as you can, with all your might that we may be safe to live another day freely in this land we love so dearly.

Elections

This is not political, I promise you. We all know the election is less than a week away. All the radio and television program sare urging us to wake-up, to open our eyes, before we vote next Tuesday. I am going to say this to you. Think about the consequences of voting the other way. Think about who is better for the country. Don't use your heart. I REPEAT, DO NOT USE YOUR HEART. Voting should not be based on emotion; otherwise, we would have voted Jesus in a long time ago.
It is your civic duty, as a citizen of this great nation, to vote for the betterment of the nation, not your own political beliefs. I do not endorse either candidate; you know which one I prefer (by a long shot), but I do not endorse either one. If I were to do that, I would then be voting with my heart because I support a candidate regardless of what comes after I endorse him. Vote for your country, that is all I can ask of you, please.

Poll Results

I can see from the poll results that we want to join Face the Tears. I can also see that only one person voted in the poll at all-- that was me. We need to show the country that there are still people who believe in moderation, being morally upright, and leading by example. If you believe this, which I hope you all do, then please vote in the poll. I am not asking you to choose any particular option; I am only seeking your participation in this poll because we are a group, an unofficial group of conservatives, and we need to stand up with one voice "we will not go quietly into the night, we will not vanish without a fight, we're going to live on, we're going to survive, today we celebrate our Independence Day!" Okay, that was a quote from President Whitmore's speech right before they go and attack the aliens in Independence Day. But it is true that we need to speak up and I cannot be the lone voice in the Drawing Room.

Poll Results

I am glad to see that everyone is voting in the polls now. Our last question was "What is the worst thing wrong in Society now?" and 75% of the votes went to lack of morality/ religion and 25% going to the economy. Temperance, The Sequel

I did a piece on temperance a few weeks ago, but now I have some weaponry. I saw a documentary on Prohibition and it mentioned an organization called the Woman's Christian Temperance Union.
